  Why would Adam or Eve choose the tree of knowledge instead of the tree of life.

  please help me out here .. in genesis 2:16 it says " and jehovah god also laid this command upon the man: from every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction.

  17 but as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it , for in the day you eat from it ,you will positively die.. ok we get that , but what about this ?.

  wouldnt it make more sense to forbid the eating of the tree of life first ?

  It was Eve who chose the tree of knowledge; she was a woman and we are just that nosey.

  Do you Remember 2nd & 4th Saturday Magazine Day?

  i think it may have been in the mid '80s a new arrangement was started for the 2nd and 4th saturday of every calendar month.

  they were designated "magazine days" and the idea was to place as many as possible with 30-60 second presentations.

  personally i hated feeling like a magazine seller, i wanted to talk to people.. i think this, and the release of the "reasoning book" was the beginning of the end of jehovah's witnesses as evangelists..

  Welcome from another fellow Brit. That song really resonated with me too. I certainly saw that same sort of treatment you describe of the the families of those with no status in the congregation. It's really just a big old boys club.

  besides it being pseudoscience, what interests me about this is that even though it's something to do with the "qi" energy flowing in our bodies, that wasn't a problem for some members of my family or a special pioneer i knew.. new study exposes acupuncture as pseudoscience.

  Double blind trials are fine for pharmacological treatments but it's impossible to test other forms of therapy in this way.

  she is feeling the effects of the ice storm and is all alone and it is christmas eve.

  is it really true that jw children get gifts 'all through the year', not just for christmas and birthdays like non- jw kids?

  as stingy as most jws are, i find that very hard to believe.

  plus the childhood magic of christmas and birthdays is totally absent in jw households.

  Um no. That old chestnut was trotted out lots though, especially when a householder would comment that not celebration Christmas was hard on JW kids.

  Yes Dave Hill was involved, I'm not sure if he was baptised but I've seen him at an assembly.
